Culinary Process Engineer

We’re looking for a passionate individual to oversee the development and implementation of kitchen operational systems that will drive customer satisfaction and financial results.
The Culinary Process Engineer will serve as the bridge between the culinary and operations teams, responsible for optimizing recipes, kitchen workflows, and production systems to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency. This role blends culinary expertise with engineering and process improvement to help us scale our menu and maintain excellence as we expand.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement standardized cooking and prep procedures across all locations.
- Translate chef-driven recipes into scalable, operationally efficient processes.
- Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to improve kitchen design, equipment utilization, and food preparation methods.
- Analyze data on throughput, yield, and quality to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the rollout of new menu items with process documentation and training materials.
- Partner with CX and operations teams to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement using lean methodologies.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in culinary process engineering, food manufacturing, or multi-unit restaurant operations.
- Strong understanding of fast casual kitchen workflows and equipment.
- Experience with process design, scaling recipes, and standardizing operations.
- Proficient in data analysis, process mapping, and documentation.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excited to work in a small company, start-up environment
Salary Range: $120 – $160k
